Welcome 2012!

I have heard that one of the number one rules of blogging is not to apologize for not blogging.  Well sometimes I don’t like to follow rules.  If you came here to my blog over the past few weeks and were disappointed by the lack of posts, I’m sorry.  As I am sure all of you know, sometimes life just gets in the way and something has to give.  That something happened to be my blog.  No need to worry, everything is working itself out over here in the Carter home and things are dandy.  My time was just needed elsewhere for a while.  I missed all of you and I am happy to be back!

Any-who, I am super excited about 2012 and what it has in store.  I am changing my outlook on resolutions and such this year.   I have heard of a new fad around the blog world and I am jumping on the wagon.  Instead of goals and resolutions this year, I am dedicating a word of the year.   The way that I understand it, you come up with a word that will inspire you through the year.   My word of the year for 2012 is….

I have many goals this year that I have in mind and all of them seem to fall under the word GROW.   I want so many things to grow and mature this year which takes cultivating, care and attention.   Moving forward with all aspects of my life will require growing and I can’t wait to see where this growth will take me in 2012.

I hope you will grow with me this year!

Today I am thankful for: Your understanding and still being a dedicated reader although I was missing for a bit.  Thank you so much for coming to read my blog…. it means the world to me. <hugs>

I love how your photos came out. It will be a challenge to come up with an idea as good as this one for next year’s Secret Santa. I will tell all my friends, who listened to the proposed plans for this project,to check out your posting.

Grow is the perfect word for the New Year! Our daughter is due in April. Baby Jack is “growing” well. Candice has become more excited each passing month as her two prior pregnancies ended in heartache.

I plan to “grow” in my creative pursuits, my niece Linda’s Zumba business is “growing” by leaps and bounds, and Meg-I can’t say it enough….your constant professional growth is an inspiration. It’s going to be a GREAT year!

Wow!! Just “stumbled” upon your blog while doing a Google search for “word of the year jewelry”. And I’m so glad I did!!! I, too, am a beach glass collector. I have also started making jewelry. (I live near Lake Erie so we call it BEACH glass!) And I, like you, picked a word of the year this year for the first time. I chose “simplify”. A friend of mine makes beautiful jewelry (with beach glass, of course). And she’s going to help me create something with my “word” and my love… beach glass!! Your creations are beautiful and I love your Capture pieces as well. :-) May this year be filled with “grow”ing for you!! :-)
