I almost hit a raccoon with my car last night! I don’t know if I have ever hit an animal with my car, not that I know of. I like to think I am a safe driver, I don’t text or talk on the phone while driving, I drive slow, especially in the dark. I rarely drive in the dark and it makes me nervous. I am always, well almost always, hyper-aware of things around me while driving, I always make the joke that I should have a bumper sticker that says “This car brakes for butterflies” because I do. I can’t help it. Anyway, this has nothing to do with my post today it’s just what came to mind.
I was driving last night because I was on the way back from a class I am taking. With the new year and my word of the year being “GROW” this class is a step towards that. I am taking an improv class with Carolina Improv Company at Uptown Theater. My hope is to let this class help me “grow” as a person. I also think this class will change my thought process in a positive way. Last night was class 2 out of 6. I am loving the class so far. I was nervous at first, but that quickly subsided once I realized that everyone in the class felt the same. All 15 of us were there with an open mind to “grow”. It is so much fun too. The reasons for taking improv are endless because it can help each person differently in so many aspects of their life. I don’t have a specific reason for taking the class other than to have fun, meet new people and learn more about myself. So far I have done all three of those things so it can only get better from here.
If you are in the Myrtle Beach area I suggest you take a class with Carolina Improv Company. If you are not in the area try to find an improv class near you.
This is just my advice for today… drive safe, break for butterflies, and take an improv class. All opinions are my own and I am not being paid by CIC or the butterflies of the world.
Today I am thankful for: Chocolate milk, I think I will go have some now.
